Gabriela Bertiller was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1969. She currently works and lives in New York City and Portland, Oregon. She received her BA from Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, Prilidiano Pueyrredón and her MFA from School of Visual Arts in New York City.
She has been Artist-in-Residence at Changdong National Art Studio run by the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul Korea, Red Gate Gallery in Beijing and The Banff Centre in Canada.
Gabriela Bertiller has exhibited at Gallery Hyundai, Seoul (2006), The Soap Factory, Minneapolis (2006), Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, Kobe, Japan (2005) and Centro Cultural Recoleta, Buenos Aires (2003).
